The year 2010 has been manifested with ups and downs, from recession, forceful evictions, toxic substances and hazardous waste spills and exposure, floods and prolonged droughts to having a climate agreement in CANCUN. EMLI brings you its second Annual report detailing how the organization is closing the gap between villages and the international community through enhancing partnerships. The year 2010 has seen EMLI work at almost all levels from the least (village) to the highest (international). From helping HIV/AIDS patients remain on required medication and dietary needs at household level to negotiating at international convention in Cancun, Mexico. Not only known for playing and advisory role on behalf of African NGO on International Environmental Governance and climate justice, EMLI is also building a grassroots civil society network known as “Kawempe Division Civil society Forum”. For EMLI, this is a potential long term capacity achievement as we look at grassroots community demanding for accountability, good governance and ensuring environment sustainability.
From Bwaise, to Bamako to Cancun, EMLI is enhancing partnerships to improve people’s livelihoods.
